Some of my favourite tours…
Ring of Kerry
During the tour you will experience outstanding views of Kerry’s majestic coastline which is part of the Wild Atlantic Way.
Wild Atlantic Way
Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, a total of 1700 miles of coastline, has now become one of the primary attractions for visitors to Ireland.
Beara Peninsula
The Beara Peninsulais much less travelled than its near neighbours of the Dingle Peninsula and the Ring of Kerry, but it is as beautiful and dramatic as the better known routes in the Kerry area.

About your guide, Barry O’Rourke
My name is Barry O’Rourke and in 2011 I jumped on the opportunity of early retirement as a Senior Police Officer (Inspector rank) to pursue my lifelong passion for the history, geography and lore of this ancient and beautiful island.
What better way to indulge my passion than to share it…
I am a tour guide based in Killarney, Co. Kerry, in south west Ireland, but I conduct private guided tours throughout the island of Ireland. As an experienced guide throughout Ireland, I aim to give the visitor an appreciation of the deep history, culture, people and unique beauty of this country.
I can bring the visitor to any of Ireland’s 32 counties, and tailor each tour to the preference and needs of each guest.
I have a passion for Irish history, from the ice age to the present day, and I aim to give each visitor an experience of the deep and sometimes troubled history of this beautiful jewel of the Atlantic.

Doolough Valley, Co. Mayo
The Doolough Valley, located in south Co. Mayo, is a hauntingly beautiful area and one of Ireland’s best kept secrets. Very much located off the traditional tourist routes, the area is rarely traversed by those large 53 seat buses regularly found on Irish roads. For...
Clifden and Connemara
Clifden and Connemara, situated west of Galway City, is a part of County Galway many visitors to this part of Ireland do not see. When speaking to international visitors, and on mentioning Galway, many tend to assume that Galway City is the dominating ‘must see’...
Beaches of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way
Ireland has many qualities to offer the discerning visitor, but it has never claimed to be a destination for sun worshipers. Notwithstanding tales of having four seasons in one day, in reality Ireland actually has a mild climate many countries would die for. The...
“A friend recommended hiring Barry as a tour guide while in Ireland. We hired him to take six of us on a tour of the Ring of Kerry. We had a delightful time. He gave us a great history of Ireland and was very interactive with us. It was so nice to have someone drive the route and tell us… “
“We are an extended family of 11 adults who toured Ireland in late August for 10 days with Barry O’Rourke, owner of Classic Ireland Guided Tours. He picked us up at the airport in Dublin, drove us in a very comfortable van to Northern, Western and Southern Ireland. Barry proved to be a pleasant, efficient, patient…”
